History
Established in 1959 by John and Dorothy Correll, the Georgia
Institute of Real Estate (GIRE) is recognized as the oldest
and most widely acclaimed school of real estate in Georgia.
GIRE has grown from informal tutoring sessions held in the
Correll's home on Saturday mornings into a distinguished
institution serving the real estate educations needs of
approximately 16,000 students in Metro Atlanta and across
Georgia. From our Atlanta and Duluth locations to our online
and CD-Rom education, we offer a wide variety of courses.
GIRE was acquired by the Atlanta Board of REALTORS®
in 1980 and has relocated numerous times to accommodate its
unparalleled growth. The main campus is located in the
Tommie Jackson Building of the Atlanta Board of REALTORS®
in Sandy Springs and a satellite campus in the Northeast
Atlanta Metro Association of REALTORS®
building in Duluth.
Courses offered by GIRE meet all the requirements of the
Georgia Real Estate Commission and Real Estate Appraisers
Board as well as provide you with a solid understanding of
the practices of the real estate and appraisal industries.
We invite you to continue browsing our website, meet our
