Accredited Seller's Representative
ASR Designation Course
The ASR® Designation
In late 2005, the Accredited Seller Agency Council (ASAC) and
Seller Agency Council (SAC) merged to form the largest and
undisputed leader in the nation in seller agency education and the
owners of the most sought-after seller agency designation, namely
the Accredited Seller Representative (ASR®) Designation.
This flagship seller agency course focuses on enhancing the
professional skills of seller's agents so as to enable them to
provide true "value added" service to today's home seller.
Traditionally, real estate agents have represented the seller
(seller agency). Then, in the late 80's and early 90's, a new wave
was pioneered and the real estate industry started placing an
emphasis on buyer agency and buyer representation. As a result,
home-buying consumers have been sensitized to the benefits of a
buyer's agent including services such as a home buyer's right to
full and equal representation and service.
While this has been an extremely positive change in our
industry, very little academic emphasis has been placed on
enhancing the skill set needed to effectively meet the demands of
today's home seller. In the early 2000's a renewed interest in
seller’s agents developed and a new emphasis was placed on seller
agency education and seller representation in the brokerage
transaction. This in turn led to a new cadre of seller agency
designations being created.
Today the Seller Agency Council is the largest and leading
organization specializing in seller’s agent education and seller
agency designation. The Seller Agency Council is a division of the
RealtyU® Group of Companies, the largest career development
consortium in the real estate industry - educating and training
over 400,000 real estate professionals every year.
