Georgia Appraisal Prelicense Course
Want a new career in appraisal but too busy to attend class?
In Georgia, you are required to complete a 90-hour Appraisal
Pre-license course and pass a School exam. We offer two options
for completing the 90-Hour Appraisal Pre-licensing Requirement
online. See below for options.
These courses are easy-to-use products guiding students through
the concepts of real estate appraisal. Provides detailed coverage
of all information essential for those seeking licensure. Offers
hypothetical case studies and extended valuation practice.
As part of our line of pre-licensing products, these courses combine
lessons that students can review at their own pace, up to five
different types of interactive exercises, and exams that measure
student understanding of the material.
OPTION 1:
90-Hour Pre-license Course Offered Through Thomson CompuTaught

The material in this course covers the 90 hours of the
new Real Property Appraiser Qualification Criteria as
mandated by the Appraisal Foundation. It focuses on the
basic principles and procedures of appraisal as well as
residential report writing and case studies. Included in this
course are real estate concepts and valuation procedures.
Neighborhood analysis is explained as well as the concept of
highest and best use. Types of value, economic principles, and
property description is covered. This course also covers Uniform
Residential Appraisal Reports (URAR). This course also includes
the 15 hour National USPAP Course Equivalent to meet the 90 hour
Trainee educational requirements.

OPTION 2:
75-Hour Pre-license Course Offered Through Thomson CompuTaught
▪ $430
This online course satisfies 75 of the 90 hours of required
Appraisal prelicensing coursework. You are required to take
an additional 15-hour Uniform Standards of Professional
Appraisal Practice (USPAP) course to complete the 90
hour requirement (see course below).

NEED USPAP ONLY?
15-Hour USPAP Course Offered Through Thomson CompuTaught
▪ $190
This course is appropriate for students who are interested in
receiving the mandatory 15-hours of Uniform Standards of
Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP) qualifying education
credit. The purpose of this course is to provide students with
knowledge and understanding of USPAP. It covers the history,
purpose and structure, how some terms are defined and used, and
the rules of USPAP. It also covers the relevant statements and
advisory opinions. The required reference material will be
provided online which includes; the USPAP 2005 Edition and the
National USPAP 15-Hour Course Student Manual.

To Qualify…
Unless you are exempted from one or more of the requirements
by the Georgia Real Estate Commission, to be eligible for a
Georgia Registered Appraiser classification, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be a resident of Georgia.
- Be a high school graduate or holder of a certification of
equivalency.
- Complete a 90-hour Appraisal Pre-license course that
includes 15 hours education in the Uniform Standards of
Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) offered by an approved
school and complete the school in-house exam.
- Obtain a copy of your Georgia Crime Information Report.
Final decisions regarding licensure are the responsibility of
the Georgia Real Estate Commission. To change Appraisal
classification from Registered to Licensed, an applicant must
complete 2,000 hours of real property appraisal experience. For
