Realtor® – Centric Technical Education is now available to
everyone!
 Real estate is and always will be a business
of relationships. However, the tools
for communicating, collaborating and exchanging information have changed.
Everyone is aware of the statistics that show how consumers are using technology
in the purchase and selling of real estate, but many of us are not as familiar
with the very tools that they use in the process. This imbalance could result in
a real cost to real estate professionals and their brokerage firm.
The Georgia Institute of Real Estate (GIRE) realized that the balance of
education offered to individuals in the field of real estate has always been
skewed towards pre-license and post-license sales courses. With that knowledge
and the statistics that illustrate the wide gap in consumer and agent technical
knowledge, the Technology Initiative was born. The first program that has been
developed is Realtor® - Centric technology courses that are designed to level
the “playing field”. Consumers are demanding that real estate professionals
communicate with them in much the same way that they communicate with their
peers at work or even their family. The Internet, Email, wireless integration
and blackberries have become expected forms of communication. This premium
educational initiative is also designed to meet the needs of everyone at every
level of their career. Many topics are offered, ranging from novice introductory
courses to emerging technologies such as podcasting.
The GIRE has invested heavily in this initiative and offers courses in the
state of the art Technology and eLearning Center lab at the Atlanta Realtors®
Center in Sandy Spring. Most courses are hands-on and many courses are available
for continuing education credit through the Georgia Real Estate Commission.
